Welcome And Meet Gabe

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to the Meat Market, the single scene is the slaughterhouse, and we are here to devour it. We are your hosts. I'm Lindsay. I'm Jess. And today's sizzling single is gay. Gibriel, welcome.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, thanks for having me. Second time here. Uh new podcast. So I'm excited. I I don't really know what today entails for me. So You're good for a trade. I've never watched any of your guys' podcasts, so we'll see what

Fitness As A Dating Standard

SPEAKER_00

happens.

SPEAKER_02

So you are a fitness coach. The internet wants to know do women need to be fit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, 100%. No, I'm not dating a girl unless she's fit or into the gym. It just, if it doesn't align with my lifestyle, then you know, why would I pursue her? Right. That's just my personal preference. If I'm fit, if I'm healthy, why would I not want a girl that is fit and healthy? Um, to the most part, you know, not everyone has to be a super strict bodybuilder like I am, but uh I do want a girl that's into her health and fitness, right? That's important whether you bodybuild or not, I believe.

SPEAKER_02

For you, is it about the looks or it is it about the lifestyle?

SPEAKER_00

It's about the lifestyle, right? What if I'm eating, you know, ground beef and rice, steak and rice, and you know, the girls over here eating mac and cheese, it just doesn't align, you know? And so um, obviously, too, as well. Like if I hold myself to a high standard, I want a female that holds herself to a high standard as well. At the end of the day, your looks speak a lot about who you are as an individual, right? How do you expect others to respect you if you don't respect yourself?

SPEAKER_02

Do you splurge? Do you have cheat days? Do you eat pizza or some?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, of course, of course. So uh right now I'm cutting, so I'm pretty locked in. But whenever one of my clients compete in a show, I always, you know, crash out with them after, celebrate with some good food. And then typically on vacation, I go off diet a lot.

SPEAKER_02

Nice. Do you drink alcohol?

SPEAKER_00

No, never. Never? It's poison. Don't do it. If even if I didn't bodybuild, uh, I wouldn't drink alcohol. So uh it destroys muscle protein synthesis. It's in no scenario is alcohol good for bodybuilding in any way. Um, and when you actually look into the health benefit or the health negatives of alcohol and that it's literally poison for your body, increases you know, cancer from your mouth to your butt and in every part of your body, um, destroys your sleep. I I wouldn't even consume it bodybuilding or not, just for like the health implications that it causes. Um, even moderate drinking is not good, you know, it it's never, it's never good. And um I'd rather just be sober.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Do you caffeine caffeine is my drug of choice?

SPEAKER_01

Do you date if you if a girl drinks, then will you not date her?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, I'd date a girl that maybe drink for like special occasions, like weddings every once in a while. But no, if if a girl regularly drinks and goes out, that doesn't align with who I am, my lifestyle, my faith. So I would not. Yeah. Same thing as kind of the eating healthy thing.

SPEAKER_01

So where do you take a girl out on a date then?

Alcohol Boundaries And Date Ideas

SPEAKER_01

Because that's sort of like the go-to, right?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, yeah, just food, food, hiking, um, the lake, fun stuff, right? It doesn't necessarily have to be drinks. Um, there's plenty of healthy restaurants that I love. Flower Child is my go-to. Um, and so yeah, if you guys ever had Flower Child, good, healthy, clean eats, um, and no alcohol.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever had a client hit on you?

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, no. I do have some female clients, but uh, I'm pretty professional in what I do. I've been coaching for a while now. I have a a variety of clients and a pretty big client roster. And uh I know how to um stay professional and I've never had that experience yet. And if it did happen, I would shut it down right away. You don't ever want to intertwine um relationships and work really, unless you're like coaching your girlfriend. You know, maybe if my girlfriend was a bodybuilder, um I would I would coach her, but it would look a little bit different, right, than a normal client.

SPEAKER_02

So you've never fallen for a client or had a crush on a client?

SPEAKER_00

No, no, I don't have a lot of females anyway.

SPEAKER_02

So do you coach for shows like the fitness shows or both, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Lifestyle and uh bodybuilding shows, yes, both. Okay, but uh but uh I've even split, you know, lifestyle and and bodybuilding.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And now where do you meet girls? Do you are you on the apps?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't use dating apps at all. Um, where do I meet girls? To be honest, I don't really meet girls. I kind of just stay at home and go to the gym. So I guess if I met a girl, uh it would be at the gym or at church. Those are the really two places I go outside of my house since I'm an online coach, right? I work from home, whether it's posting from social media or it's doing client work on my setup, right, in my office. And uh yeah, it kind of leads me to not meeting pretty much any girls except for social media. No, no, no, but I still I still do talk to some girls, right? I still uh end up, you know, you know, texting some girls and it all comes through Instagram. Instagram is basically that's what I was gonna do.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, have you been out with a girl before? Yeah, maybe have a girlfriend. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no. In Instagram is basically the the dating app. That's how yeah, I get hit up, or you know, maybe I'll follow a girl too.

SPEAKER_02

Do you get a lot of women sliding in your DMs?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I used to. I do when I'm lean and I post my physique more.

SPEAKER_01

But how funny that it diff it differs depending on the type of content that you post. Really?

SPEAKER_00

When I'm lean and posting my physique and you know, posting um a lot of stuff that I guess would be on their for you page or whatever, then yes. Right now, when I'm just posting like green screens and talking coaching content, not as much, but still, yeah, still. And do you Instagram's a dating app?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All my relationships have come from Instagram, to be honest. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What is the West that you've

Instagram As The New Dating App

SPEAKER_02

been on? Have you been on any terrible, bad dates?

SPEAKER_00

No, but I do have some funny stories. So uh I've never been on a horrible date per se, right? I kind of like vet the girl before I even, you know, would hang out with them in person. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time. But um, so as a natural bodybuilder, right? My brand is kind of about being natural. If I was to ever be with like a gym girl that was taking, you know, peptides, um, some of them, some female bodybuilders do take steroids, people don't know that. Um, or you know, whatever, right? Something that makes them not natural, not able to compete in the natural leagues. A, that doesn't align with who I am. That would be um, I would be a hypocrite, right? I I feel like to date a girl who's not natural as someone who preaches, staying natural, someone who is natural. That would just make me look bad, make my whole brand look bad. And so multiple times, multiple times, I have started talking to gym girls and they are on something, whether it be, you know, peptides, uh, worse, you know, things like Anivar, you know, steroids that girls take. Um, and so yeah, I have to like ghost them or stop talking to them because people these days, man, it's so easy to get PEDs, peptides, all those things. And there's a lot of gym girls on them. And now I gotta vet these girls, right? You see a cute girl in the gym, you know, you never know, she might be on Reddit or something.

SPEAKER_02

So the are those legal?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's legal. Like to each their own. I have plenty of bodybuilder friends who take things, you know. Uh like steroids are very prevalent. TRT, right? It's cool to each their own, just for me. I I compete tested. I cannot take those things, and I preach to not take those things. So what do they do?

SPEAKER_02

Just build muscle?

SPEAKER_00

Everything does different things, but yeah, an anabolic steroid is uh like um a muscle building promoting, you know, drug. But um a lot of the girls are on like the the appetite suppressant peptides, like retotrutide, GLP3s, GLP1s.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I see.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah, and those make you not natural technically. Like, okay, if they want to take them, be my guest, you know, no hate. Um, but that's not a girl I can date. It's kind of like drinking. Like, I can't date a girl that drinks because I don't really drink, and uh, I'm not gonna date a girl who is taking PEDs uh because I don't. And yeah, I've talked to multiple gym girls. You vet them, things are going good, and then you know, they're talking about, you know, maybe competing or like the gym, and I'll be like, oh, that's so sick. Uh, are you natural? And then they just start typing for a long time, and then I'm like, Oh, I already know what the answer is gonna be. They're not. It's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy. So this might sound like a stupid question, but I know like when you're competing in the Olympics, you can't take steroids. Yeah. Is it the same with bodybuilding? If you're in a show and they find out you're taking steroids, is that a no-no?

SPEAKER_00

There's two leagues. One league, the main league, right? You know, the all the guys you see online, the Olympia, it's part of the sport. They push their bodies to the limits. Um, they are willing to risk their health for the sport. And all those big, you know, huge uh guys that you see online, a lot of people see online, are on gear because it's untested and it's part of the sport. Like you have to take it kind of to be competitive at that level. And then there's tested shows, a lot of tested shows. Um, plenty of opportunity for naturals, and that's what I compete in. So they polygraph test you the night before, and then they P test all the winners. Um, and if you get popped, right, you know, your placing would be uh revoked from you and you'd be on the ban list.

SPEAKER_01

So, what do they ask you in the polygraph? They ask you if you're taking anything.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just have you taken anything in the last seven years. Usually most leagues, like the uh the ban criteria is seven years, and they'll start listing stuff and they compare it to like um, is your name this, yes, just normal standard polygraph stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

So you said you have some female clients. Do their partners ever get jealous? Because we have a we know a lot of women that cheat on their with their trainer, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

In-person trainers, uh, it's online and it's super professional. So I've never had that experience. But yeah, there's oh, that's always gonna happen. There's always gonna be these rare cases of stuff happening like that. Yeah. I've never had it happen though.

SPEAKER_02

Have you ever walked out mid-date?

SPEAKER_00

Walked out mid-date. No, no, I feel like that would be pretty rude. Uh, I've just, you know, if if it doesn't align, if the girl drinks, if the girl's on peptides, it's just happened multiple times now. Gosh.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy. It's back to that.

SPEAKER_00

And I just natural.

Natural Bodybuilding And PED Deal Breakers

SPEAKER_01

I've just thought how do you feel about surgical enhancements? Um, because that's a thing too.

SPEAKER_00

It's not vain, yes. I actually I used to have a pretty strong stance on that. I didn't want a girl that wanted any surgical or that had any surgical enhancements because honestly, just more for the fact that I saw it as vanity, right? They don't um appreciate the the way God made them. You know, you can kind of see it as like that. But I guess if it's not in a vain sense and if it's not overdone, I mean, you you could also call what I do natural bodybuilding vanity as well, right? Um, so I think it all comes down to the heart. And if they're doing it out of vanity, um, getting, you know, all these surgeries and stuff, or you know, hey, they just want a little bit of lip filler um for confidence because you that's what they want to do and that's what they want to spend their money on, or is it vanity and they're obsessed with their looks? So it just depends on the individual and their heart.

SPEAKER_01

Do you see that all the time? Girls posting like their ass, and it's like, thank the gym or thank the trainer or whoever it is, and then like you find out later they had a BBL. God.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't I don't know if I'd want a girl with plastic surgery, to be honest. Just my personal preference. Hey, no hate, you know, if that's you, but my personal preference, it's a little vain. It's dangerous. There's people that get sick um with the plastic silicone in their body and stuff like that. Um, and they actually have to get it removed. I've seen that happen multiple times uh with different individuals that I know. And uh yeah, I'd rather my girl doesn't do that, but hey, you know, maybe a little bit of lip filler, right? Um, something that's not vain, I guess. Something that's not getting plastic in your body. It's like whatever. Yeah, it just depends. It just I guess it depends on the girl. You know, if she has a good heart and she's not overly obsessed with her looks and that's why she's doing it, it's it's all right, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

Because it is a slippery slope.

SPEAKER_00

You kind of see my perspective then.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a slippery slope of just like, oh, just like a little tweak here, a little tweak there, into like a full blown, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I like natural beauty though. So I probably wouldn't want a girl with all that. Just I like when, you know, minimal makeup, just natural, healthy, you know, beauty.

SPEAKER_01

I've seen things too when it's like when guys say they want a natural beauty and no makeup, it's like this is what they mean. And it's like Kendall Jenner with a a face of natural makeup. And like the girls who do makeup are like, that's still a full face of makeup, you know what I mean? So it's just like I think too, it's hard to understand how what actually goes into a girl's like get ready routine. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_03

That's true.

SPEAKER_02

It does cram up how you see a lot of these female celebrities that post, oh, I've just woken up, no makeup, natural face. And you can tell they just don't have the fake eyelashes and the eyeline, but they still have the foundation. Yes, yes, there's a base. There's a base for sure. So have you ever been cheated on?

SPEAKER_00

Uh no, I have not. Not not to my knowledge.

SPEAKER_02

And you've never cheated on someone? Have you? You have.

SPEAKER_00

In the past, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we you know, long time ago things on my young Yeah, a long time ago.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, before before I became the person I I am today.

SPEAKER_02

Did she find out? Did you tell her? Um, she found out, yeah. How did she find out?

SPEAKER_00

Um, just people knowing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Did she break up with you?

SPEAKER_00

Uh it was after we broke up, yeah. It was a long time ago, like years ago. It was like how long ago? Like high school.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. What's your longest relationship?

SPEAKER_00

Longest relationship was a year and eleven months. Oh wow.

SPEAKER_02

Are you looking to get married and have kids and family?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I want to get married and have kids. I had a date to marry, so um the girl has to kinda be on her stuff if I'm if I'm gonna pursue her.

SPEAKER_02

So what's your type? Fit, obviously.

SPEAKER_00

Fit.

SPEAKER_02

Does she have to be religious?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. What faith? A Christian. Yes, yes. Um that's like you it just is a recipe for disaster if you're unequally yoked in your faith. 100%. It's just it's a recipe for disaster, a recipe for um disaster. And then I I hold myself to a pretty high standard, so I also want a a girl that does as well.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So if you met someone and she was a different religious but a different religion, that's deal breaker for you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I would I would want a a girl that has the same exact faith as me.

SPEAKER_01

It would be hard to be really to be strong in your faith in one faith and to be with someone who was I agree on the other side. It's just a recipe for conflict. Yeah, conflict.

SPEAKER_00

And you know, the Bible kind of talks about being equally yoked and and marrying someone else that is of your same faith.

SPEAKER_02

No, does it matter if like you're Christian? Could you date a Catholic?

SPEAKER_00

Uh no, there's some there's too big of differences, honestly, in in the doctrine and the theology. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. What are your deal breakers besides like religion, faith?

SPEAKER_00

Um, okay, I'll give you some good ones. Being natural. Too many girls on stuff these days. Okay. Um, fit, healthy. Someone that can understand when uh I have to put a lot of hours into work and I'm focused on growing my business, right? You working for yourself, it's cool. You can set your own hours, but sometimes the work doesn't stop. And so I feel like I would just need a female that understands, hey, you know, I'm I'm building something here, I'm in my grind phase. Um, like it's okay if we don't hang out every single day and do something fun every single day, you know. Like you have to work to achieve great things. And so honestly, just a girl that understands that and has her own thing going for her as well, right? You don't ever want to if if if you're chasing success and you're chasing something, you don't ever want to date a female that is a bum and isn't chasing anything and has no ambitions and aspirations.

SPEAKER_02

Would you ever date a sugar baby, like someone that has dated for money, older men for money?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I mean, I've done, you know, things that aren't good in my past. So like maybe if she's done that in the past and she's a new person now, right? Uh same thing with me, right? Just because I've done stuff in the past doesn't define who I am now as a person. Um, but if like she's currently doing that and like she's hopping relationship to relationship, that's a red flag. And then, you know, if she's been with these guys that are buying her all this stuff, taking her, you know, to who knows where, then it's like almost, you know, you don't, it's it's like dating a spoiled girl, right? You can never please them because their parents spoiled them their whole life, you know, and they're never grateful. So probably a red flag to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

You ready for it? I'm ready

Money Compatibility And Retirement Fears

SPEAKER_01

for it. The keep more minute, sponsored by tactical tax strategies. They help you keep more in your wallet. We help you keep more in your relationship. Okay, so we have a listener question. Okay. Okay. So this says I'm getting ready to start dating again after a several year hiatus, and dating takes a thick skin. I'm currently 55 years old and financially stable. I have maybe but probably not quite enough for myself to retire where I have always lived. I'm interested in what other people think about dating a partner who doesn't have any retirement savings or not enough or very little. Theoretically, I've been okay if the guy is emotionally and intellectually a match. Um, but as I've gotten older and closer to this retirement age, it it feels different now. And if I'm honest, I really have no interest in financing someone else's retirement after my lifetime of saving.

SPEAKER_00

How do you guys feel about I think that's a question for you guys? I'm not even close to retirement.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

No. But but just dating someone who's not financially on the same level as you are.

SPEAKER_02

It's don't they say that's the number one reason for divorce is you're not financially on the same page. People fight so much about money. So I think it's important to be on the same page. If you're like very wise with your money, it would be hard, I can imagine, to date someone who's very frivolous with their money and doesn't save. And it would be frustrating if like you have all this money in your retirement, you're set, and they have nothing and they're spending all your money.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't be able to date someone who didn't have equal or more than what I have in my like my retirement accounts, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I couldn't do it. I think it would be tough. Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_02

Do you feel like you could date someone who wants to be a stay-at-home wife? Yeah. You could stay-at-home mother.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. I feel like with my business, I uh well already can make enough money to provide for a stay-at-home wife and give her like an awesome life where um she just, you know, does things around the house and doesn't have to work. I think that's the goal for any hardworking man is they want to allow their wife, they want to make enough money to provide for, you know, a family where the wife and kids don't have to work, you know. Um, I think that's that's the goal. And that's something I would want to do 100%.

Cheating Revenge Story And Clean Breaks

SPEAKER_02

So now we're gonna discuss this article that I read. Um so speaking of cheating, this woman found that her boyfriend was cheating on her. So she gave him a laxative and glued his butt cheeks closed with gorilla glue. This is an actual story, isn't it? People are freaking crazy. Why not just leave him? Like, why would you go to the extreme of, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Like also, I just feel like it that wouldn't work, right? I feel like there would be cracks. Like, you know, I don't know. I feel like it just would be really messy, right? Literally situation. Crappy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I can't. Crappy situation to be in. But like it just we have women on the show all the time that tell us how they found out their you know, boyfriends are cheating. And they that one girl that went crazy and with her lipstick, and you know.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like that's not what I would do. I wouldn't, I would just leave.

SPEAKER_00

I just leave and block them. And that the bet the best, most mature thing you can do when someone's lying to you, uh, when someone is doing that to you, is just never talk to them again, block them and just move on. Um, I like I haven't been cheated on, but I've gotten done dirty too. Um, like after breaking up, right? You know, short time after. And you just just block and forget about them and realize that you know they're out of your life for a reason. They uh you dodged a bullet and they're not meant to be in your life, you

Phoenix Dating And Staying Lust Free

SPEAKER_00

know.

SPEAKER_01

So have you always lived in Arizona? Always did you you grew up here? Yeah, I grew up here. Yeah. Okay. What part of the valley?

SPEAKER_00

I grew up in like Levine area, and then now I live in Phoenix, like West Phoenix.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay. Just I'm interested in the type. Well, how do you find dating in this city as someone who's always lived here?

SPEAKER_00

Just depends where you look, right? I don't drink, I'm not going to bars, I'm not going to these places where these ratchet uh girls are gonna be. I date girls that are high value women, right? Because that's what I'm looking for. And and you don't find them there. Um, I mean, you can find them on Instagram, you vet them a little bit, see what they're about. If they're not aligned with what I want, then you just stop talking to them. Super easy. Um, but in person, honestly, my opinion, uh, for anybody that's like me out there, the best spot is gonna be church.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, don't you what about church? You meet people there?

SPEAKER_00

I don't just because I'm not really looking for anyone. Um, I'd say the majority of the girls I end up meeting are are from Instagram, to be honest.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But I right now where I'm at, I'm not like I'm just waiting. Like, I'm open to it, but I'm not actively looking. I think if you're a man that's like actively looking, actively obsessed with you know, chasing women, you are not living to your full potential of what you could achieve because you only have so much attention to give. If you're giving all this attention to women and females and chasing them and just Not letting the right thing happen, right? That's a lot of attention that you could be putting on um building a business, building, you know, whatever goals you have and working towards those. So at least me personally, I'd rather put 100% of my attention into those goals that I have instead of you know wasting time chasing women that um where it might not even work out.

SPEAKER_01

And uh it's lustful, right? Yeah, yeah. It like it just like takes away. And there's I feel like there are too many men that are just distracted by lust and like the ease of having access to women. When was your last relationship?

SPEAKER_00

Uh it ended last December. So it's been what, eight months?

SPEAKER_02

Because it seems like you know what you want, like you have checked this. I feel like it's gonna be kind of hard from what we hear, and the you know, it feels like it's gonna be really hard to find what you're looking for.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I've I've found it multiple times now. Pretty much the last uh three girls that I've dated have been exactly that. So yeah, my last, my last girlfriend, she's great, high value woman, 100%. Um, just didn't work out right. Not everyone's meant for each other. Um, and yeah, I've I've I've I've found them. Um, like I said, they're typically gym girls that are uh Christians. So it's true.

SPEAKER_02

I don't go to the gym or I don't go to church. So I'm just not meeting.

SPEAKER_01

This girl at my gym, and I want to talk to you once we're done recording, see if you know her. But I have someone that I'm thinking of that I think would be a really good match for you. She likes sings in her church. And so I know she's a Christian.

SPEAKER_00

And one of my one of my girlfriends was a singer at church.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm wondering, I'm like, You guys are a little bit helping me realize my top, like the funnel that like the what you're looking for, I feel like is a very sort of like a niche type, especially in this city, like especially in the Phoenix Scottsdale area. What you're looking for is rare here.

SPEAKER_00

Here's the thing like to any guys listening, right? You think that you'll never find a good girl, and you know, you never find someone your type, but you just have to let them come to you. And if you want a high value woman, you have to be a high value man. And there's so many people in this huge world, in this huge country. There is, you know, people that fit your type out there. You just can't rush things in and and they'll come. But the number one thing that I feel like has, like you, like you said earlier, um, you know, kind of changed my life over the last year. Like over the last year, I've you know, built and um, you know, achieved a lot of goals that I had for myself and and honestly changed my life. And the number one, one of the number one things that I would give advice to another guy trying to do what I did over the last year is do what I did, and that's stay completely lust-free. That was a huge part of my success. And that is something I have kept to this day over like the last two years and have uh only it will only benefit you. And I would give that as like top three pieces of advice for another man trying to build something or you know, find a high value woman like this. You you have to be a high value man as well, that isn't lusting after random girls, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and every girl that comes on, every woman that comes on our show, like what do they say? It's like a man that has no self-control is not attractive. Like a man that will just like go out and be with whoever is not attractive. And so it's like you hear that from the other side of the coin too, that there are a lot of good women out there that are looking for that type of man.

SPEAKER_00

And then these guys, they want those type of women, but they're not doing it themselves, right? If you want those type of women, you have to walk the walk. Walk the talk.

SPEAKER_02

You know what makes me angry? You made a good point. You said if you want a high value woman, you've got to be a high value man. We know a lot of guys that want a high value woman and slam women, they're not high value, but they're pieces of shit and they don't treat women well, and they're not high value men. If you want a high value woman, you gotta be a high value man, right?

SPEAKER_01

So we know a lot of guys like that. And it's like, dude. It and it does, it goes both ways too, because you can say the same thing about women, women who want a high value man who aren't a high value woman themselves. So I think it just, yeah, that self, like you were saying, like getting right with yourself first before you know you can have somebody, somebody that's right for you come

Friends First Beats Chemistry First

SPEAKER_01

in.

SPEAKER_02

Now it's time for the celebrity cup where we marinate in the juices of the celebrities. So you were talking about leading with lust. So I thought this was relevant. Did you read the interview with Brian Austin Green about what he's learned from his marriage with Megan Fox? So, what Brian Austin Green has learned after 15 years of Megan Fox, he admitted he used to lead with physical attraction. He'd be attracted first and will would build the relationship second. But is physical chemistry enough to build a lasting relationship? Probably not, right? And then he div, his divorce forced him to look inward. After the marriage ended, he went to therapy. He wanted to identify what he was bringing into relationships that wasn't healthy. Do most people blame their ex instead of examining their own role? I think that's pretty common, right? They always blame the ex rather than take a look inside. Yeah. Um he changed his dating strategy completely. Instead of chasing attraction first, he wanted to become friends first. He believes emotional connection creates a stronger foundation. Is friends first better than instant chemistry? I think so. All my successful relationships, we were friends first. And then because I feel like they always say the strongest relationships are ones where you you're best friends.

SPEAKER_01

But I think also you can become best friends. That's true, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It just takes time. It just takes time. Yeah. Transparency from the beginning, he and Sharna discussed both their best and worst qualities early on. No pretending to be perfect. Are people too afraid to show flaws early on in dating? I think people do try to be per too perfect, right? And I kind of like that. Like in the beginning, talk about what isn't perfect about you, what your flaws are. You know, so they can get to know the real you. Maybe that's why the honeymoon phase only lasts three months and then they move on. His biggest realization about attraction, physical attraction fades if you don't genuinely like the person. His quote, eventually you get to a point where you can't stand that person, so they're not hot to you anymore. Haven't you been with someone, they're so good looking, and then you get to know them, you're like, oh my god, you're so ugly. Yeah. Right? Yeah. He says genuine connection removes anxiety. When you're already friends, you're less worried about whether the other person likes you. The relationship feels more authentic and transparent. Does friendship reduce dating games? I think it kind of does, right? If you're friends, you kind of don't feel the need to play all those games.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and also too, it's just like a comfort level. You're comfortable with your friends. So if you've developed a friendship with someone, you're more comfortable with them. Yeah. And so it's more about being like comfortable with someone. That's because like I can tell when I'm not super comfortable around someone and it makes me not want to spend time around them anymore. So it's more of like a comfort, comfort level thing.

SPEAKER_02

I like being able to say what speak what's on my mind and not worry if they're gonna judge me. Yeah. That's the worst. And then the last takeaway is co-parenting takeaway. He initially grieved missing half of his children's lives after divorce, but then he later reframed it. Time without kids becomes an opportunity to recharge. He believes taking care of himself makes him a better father when they're with him. Um, and then it asks a question Would you rather date someone you're wildly attracted to but don't have much in common with, or someone you're best friends with who becomes more attractive over time? Obviously the latter, right?

SPEAKER_00

Obviously, best friends all day. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's true, looks do fade.

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_00

Green flag.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_00

Red flag.

SPEAKER_02

Even if they're it's platonic.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, get it.

SPEAKER_02

You can't do it. Where should you not take a girl on a first date? The bar. Is watching porn considered cheating? Yes. Before you're intimate, is it appropriate to ask your date how many people they've been with?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, but I don't get intimate with girls.

SPEAKER_02

Is it acceptable? Are you saving yourself to marriage?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Is it acceptable to have sex on a first date?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

Do you have a secret talent that not many people know about or something that not many people know about you?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I can speak Spanish. You can fluently? Yo puedo hablar espaΓ±ol, mi mamΓ‘ is Ecuador.

SPEAKER_02

Oh wow. How'd you learn that?

SPEAKER_00

My mom's Ecuadorian.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay. You just said that. I kind of got the gist. I wasn't sure. Wanted to translate it for people who didn't understand. In one sentence, why should someone date you?

SPEAKER_00

Because I love God.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And last but not least, what is your favorite sexual position and my never um never done it?

SPEAKER_01

In my head, I'm like, she's not gonna ask the question. She's not gonna ask the last question, obviously.

SPEAKER_02

I'm asking him wow.
