When A Trick Goes Wrong
SPEAKER_03So Electric, you are a magician. Have you ever had a trick go completely wrong? Yes.
SPEAKER_00One yes, many times. But I've always tried to find a way to cover it in a most extremely sometimes in a possible way and also sometimes in a very funny way.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I'm sure that has to happen to every magician, right? Yes. Yes. Yes. Any crazy stories?
SPEAKER_00I would say that this actually happened two weeks ago. Two weeks ago. I was in Old Town Scottsale, actually, and I actually met a very famous influencer, Led uh Ed Matthews, I meant to say. And I did a trick where I literally eat glass. Like I pick up his wine glass, drank the entire wine of his, and I literally just took a bite out of the wine glass and threw it right in front of his face.
SPEAKER_01Wow. So you actually did that?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Yes, I actually did that.
SPEAKER_01Without getting injured?
SPEAKER_00Without getting injured. No cuts, no blood? No cuts, no blood.
SPEAKER_03And you actually ingested it.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I actually eat the glass.
The Night He Ate Glass
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00And everybody hears the glass crunching and in my mouth.
SPEAKER_03And that doesn't affect you?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy. Wow. How did you like what what made you decide to try that?
SPEAKER_00Uh as a magician, I wanted to be a little crazy and be a little bit more impossible. And what I mean by that is do stuff that is literally impossible. Like really impossible that really blows people's minds so they can remember the moments and the experience.
SPEAKER_03That m that would be very memorable. If I saw someone do that, I'd be like, I know.
SPEAKER_01Is that so is that like your thing? You go and you do magic tricks in public? Or was it like a was it just like I happened to be at the right place at the right time?
SPEAKER_00Just like a casual, actually. I was just out at Old Town and I just saw this famous person. I didn't know who it was. Then his one of his assistants told me it was Ed Matthews, and then he wanted me to show him a magic trick.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So I just went up to him and then just did that crazy thing.
SPEAKER_03Did you get on camera?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Good. That's
A Card Trick For Flirting
SPEAKER_01so funny. Have you ever done that to pick up a woman?
SPEAKER_00Uh yes.
SPEAKER_01What's the trick that works the best?
SPEAKER_00Uh basically, and I can show it to you in a second if you like. Um basically they choose a card, they choose a card, then I fold the card in a couple of times and put them in the put the card in the mouth, in their mouth, and I put my card that I select in my mouth, then I hold their hands, and then we kind of kiss in a very most romantic way. For some reason, while we kiss, I all of a sudden have her card, and she has my card.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. Yeah, yeah. That is impressive. That is impressive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That is impressive. But first, I mean, first you have to have a woman that will agree to get that close to you for a magic trick. Have you ever had has it ever gone wrong? And they're like, um, no, absolutely not. I'm not doing that.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yes, many times, actually.
Dancing Acting And Finding The Stage
SPEAKER_03So, where do you do magic? Do you do magic shows?
SPEAKER_00Do you do parties? To be honest, I am a professional performer and I do magic as like one of my strongest talent. My strongest talent is dancing, pretty much.
SPEAKER_03What kind of dancing?
SPEAKER_00Like a mixed dancer. And a lot of professional dancers and also famous dancers have never heard of those kind of type of dancers before. And it's like many kind of different styles. You put it in one dance.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_03Interesting.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03And you act as well?
SPEAKER_00I do.
SPEAKER_03Have you been in anything fun or no?
SPEAKER_00Just I create my own films and also Okay, I see what you meant, actually. I also been in many, many shows. Many shows that after Herberger Theater in downtown Phoenix.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so you perform at shows and perform on stage.
SPEAKER_00That's my biggest passion.
SPEAKER_03Stage, really?
SPEAKER_00Is being on stage.
SPEAKER_03I would that would give me anxiety because if you forget lines or you forget your move, like you're in a live audience, I couldn't do it.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's that's the thing of being an artist. You get to get creative. Even though if you like forgot your lines, you can like you still know the story and you understand the scenes. You can still.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I would not be so good at that.
SPEAKER_03So how did you get into that?
SPEAKER_00Oh, when I was a young boy, I started out as a dancer.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_00And then my friend inspired me to become a performer. And also my mother also inspired me to become a performer. And so my dad said there's an audition at Value Theater in downtown Phoenix called Narnia. And so I auditioned and I got one of the main parts.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome.
SPEAKER_00That was my very first show I've ever done.
SPEAKER_03Really? Congratulations.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Thank you so much. And after that, I just fell in love with it, and then I wanted to discover more talents, and Magic was one of them.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So when you date, do people ever get jealous of you because performing and meeting other actors or actresses? And no, no. It's never caused an issue in a relationship.
SPEAKER_00No, never. I always love to act normal, act like a normal person who really entertain people. And when I date someone, they don't care about liking jealous or anything because they know I'm a performer. They always know I love to connect with other people.
SPEAKER_01Well, and that's probably something that draws them to you in the first place. And so then it's like you can't be upset with someone for being the person that they were attracted to. Right. Right?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Do you date mostly in the entertainment industry also, or do you prefer to date outside of that?
SPEAKER_00Both, actually. Okay. Both. It's like I see it as a journey. Like a different experience in I own
Dating Style Boundaries And Deal Breakers
SPEAKER_00I'm always open with different experience of life.
SPEAKER_03Now, have you had any terrible disaster date stories? No. No. Do you date online?
SPEAKER_00I do not.
SPEAKER_03No, no.
SPEAKER_00I do not.
SPEAKER_03So you've never been catfished or never. What? That's crazy. How old are you?
SPEAKER_00I am 27.
SPEAKER_0327. Okay. I feel like the younger generation, people in their 20s, they don't really never date online. It's an older person's thing.
SPEAKER_01I think now it's becoming It is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But it but I feel like you have an advantage because you have something that's unique about you that is like a conversation starter. Whereas a lot of people have to try to think about what they're gonna say when they go up. They have a lot of anxiety around, you know, what am I gonna say or how am I gonna approach this person or whatever?
SPEAKER_03So and you probably meet a lot of people in your field. Yes. There's probably a lot of people that you meet naturally, organically. So there's no need to redeem it.
SPEAKER_00Naturally and organically, yes. Yes. And I can also sense of like who's uncomfortable and who's not uncomfortable and all that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_03So what is the worst that you've ever been on? Do you have one in mind?
SPEAKER_00What do you mean by that if you don't mind?
SPEAKER_03The worst that you've been on, like you know, did you go out with someone and they got so drunk or you got so drunk or just a bad date that went wrong?
SPEAKER_00Never, never you're lucky.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, very lucky.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, never.
SPEAKER_01What are you looking for in a partner?
SPEAKER_00Someone who's really open, someone who's can really see other people as a person, and who's just like really open of who I am, and I can always be open of who she is.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome. Yeah. And you sing?
SPEAKER_00I do sing.
SPEAKER_03What style do you sing?
SPEAKER_00Any kind of type of style that touches my soul.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Can you give us the little Oh no, thank you. No, even though I did not do my vocal warm positive.
SPEAKER_02Lindsay will harmonize with you.
SPEAKER_03So, what are some deal breakers for you in a relationship or in a woman?
SPEAKER_00Just being really open to really get to know uh who they are and um just like communicate and find ways where we can really connect to each other.
SPEAKER_03Are you looking to get married, have kids?
SPEAKER_00I'm not ready yet. You're still so young. Yeah, I'm still young.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. What's your idea of like the ideal first date? Where do you normally take a woman?
SPEAKER_00Well, take them to a place of who I am. Like I said, I'm a performer. I would love to like take her into a restaurant that has like a stage. That has a stage, and if they allow karaoke, I would go upstairs uh up to the stage and sing in front of her.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, how fun. What's your karaoke song?
SPEAKER_00Budapest by George Ezra.
SPEAKER_03I don't think I know that song. I don't know that song either. What is George Ezra? I'll have to look that up. Yeah. I'll play that on the way home. Have you ever been cheated on? Never. No, have you ever cheated?
SPEAKER_00Never.
SPEAKER_01No, good. Good for you. Yes. Have you had long-term relationships?
SPEAKER_00Never. Never. It's just like me. If I find a girl that I find interesting, I just asked her out and then try to get to know her. And then after, now we just like maybe get to see each other again or maybe not.
SPEAKER_01If you're so if you say you're not ready for marriage and kids, are you ready for a long-term relationship right now? Or are you just dating to have fun?
SPEAKER_00Just dating to have fun. I'm still young.
SPEAKER_01I feel like sometimes when it's interesting, the guests that we have on who are really seriously looking for someone tend to have the crazy stories and the bad dates. And the ones who are just out having fun, having a good time, dating around, not taking it so seriously. They're the ones that don't have terrible dates. I feel like the expectation is just exactly.
SPEAKER_03They're just going with the flow. Yeah. Don't have such high expectations. It's true. I feel like everyone should just date with no expectations. Date to have fun. And if it happened, that's what happened with me. I gave up on dating. I was dating just for fun, and that's how I found love. Because I had no expectations. I didn't expect it to go anywhere. Yeah. And here I am, three kids later.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's so funny. Are there, okay, so we've had multiple guests, and I don't know that we've we've never had a magician on.
SPEAKER_03We've never had a magician on.
SPEAKER_01So we've had athletes and we've had writers and we've had different people on social media people in in every niche. There's like the Jersey Chasers or the puck bunnies. There's the girls, there's the groupie girls. Do magicians have groupies? I don't know. You don't know.
SPEAKER_00I never had groupies. Never.
SPEAKER_02Haven't gotten to that point yet.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01That's so funny.
SPEAKER_00Are you ready for it?
SPEAKER_01I'm ready for it. The keep more minute brought to you by Tactical Tax Strategies. They help you keep more in your wallet. We help you keep more in your relationship.
Regret After Ending A Relationship
SPEAKER_01All right. So we have a listener question. This one's it's long. Okay. I ended a relationship I shouldn't have. How do I move forward? One and a half years ago, I ended a relationship with a wonderful man. We were together for six months and I was 32 years old. I was inexperienced and naive at the time and unrealistically picky. I was flighty and searching for chaos. Admittedly, I was not a very good partner, but he adored me nonetheless. I have been thinking about him often over the past year as I've started to go into therapy and I've been learning about myself. I've realized that I want a calm, stable life with a mature and caring man. The realization that I had that and threw it away has hit me very hard. I can't, and I can't go back to him as he is in a new relationship. I truly feel that I won't find someone as good as him again. He was special. He wasn't just a good man, he was creative, always self-improving, responsible, and interesting. I hate myself for the reckless decision I made and for the immature and stupid person I was back then. I stopped dating for a while because I found myself comparing every man I date to him. And I feel like I've ruined my life by leaving that relationship and I'm having a hard time moving forward. Do you have any advice? That sucks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But I feel, first of all, timing is everything. Like you could be perfect for each other, but if the timing isn't right, it's not gonna work.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03People underestimate the power of timing, for sure. So maybe it just wasn't ready right for her at that time. And something out there, something is better out there waiting for her. She has to remind herself of that. Everything happens for a reason. You'll find that again and find something better for you.
SPEAKER_01I agree. And I also feel like she's romanticizing him a little bit because she's a different person now. What if the person that she is now doesn't fit with the person that she's romanticized in her head?
SPEAKER_03Exactly. We changed. Maybe he's changed. Yeah. I guarantee she gets back with him, she might think, oh my goodness, I what did I see in him? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Why did I create such an image of him in my mind? Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think she's stressing over nothing. Like you can't regret, you can't have regrets over the past. The past is the past. Just think of, you know, move forward, move on. There's something better out there for her.
SPEAKER_01I think if and I think if she continues to like spiral on him, her therapy's not gonna help. She's gonna take that into her next relationship. I agree. So keep going to therapy.
Is Checking A Phone Ever OK
SPEAKER_03So I want to discuss this um article that I read. Is checking your partner's phone ever justified? How do you guys feel about that? A suspicious notification, sudden secrecy, or a change in phone habits can trigger questions about trust and privacy. And they have these questions that go along with it. What's the difference between privacy and secrecy in a relationship? I don't know. For me, like my phone is your phone. My husband and I we have the passwords. Because if you have nothing to hide, why do you need to keep your phone private? For me, that's a red flag. If they need their privacy, what are you trying to hide? Yeah. Am I wrong?
SPEAKER_01No. Every time I've ever gone through a partner's phone, I've found something. And so it's like what I've learned is if we've gotten to the point where I feel like, or if either one of us feels like we have to check each other's phones, it's not worth it. Right? Like it's like, what are we doing? Or maybe not it's not worth it, but like we need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture because there's something wrong, obviously.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, if I was dating a guy and I felt the need to check his phone, I would be out. I don't want to be in a relationship where I feel insecure and I feel the need to check his phone.
SPEAKER_01And you've never been in a serious relationship before. So have but have you ever been in a relationship to where this has come up?
SPEAKER_00Yes. However, I already look like I'll look at every single detail. Look at every single detail. Like, what if there's a reason why he's like holding every information secret from you though? Or what if she's doing it to you? I look at every single detail.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Single detail, but if I find the right details, then you'll know that she or he is cheating. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03There was only one time I felt my husband was being sus on his phone and being secretive, and I was like, what is going on? Kind of freaking out. But it's he was ordering the banner for when he proposed to me. Will you marry me, LJ? So that was the only time. So now I understand why.
SPEAKER_02Prove you wrong. Right. Yeah. I wonder though, I would feel insecure dating a magician because I'd be like, can he magically get into my phone? My live search history is pretty like embarrassing.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I wouldn't want someone going into my s I Google everything. Like the stupidest things that you someone shouldn't Google.
SPEAKER_03That's crazy. No, I can't.
SPEAKER_01You don't ever you don't ever Google random stuff?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but not like I wouldn't be ever embarrassed for people to look it up.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I would.
SPEAKER_03But that's funny. So do you think going through your partner's phone is ever acceptable?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And what if you discover something suspicious by accident? That's kind of true. If you discover something by accident, how do you let them know, like, without admitting that you were snooping?
SPEAKER_01If you went through your you didn't discover on accident if you were snooping, you discovered it on purpose.
SPEAKER_03Like what? But but that's stupid. How can you discover something suspicious by accident? Oh, I accidentally had your phone in my phone.
SPEAKER_02That's exactly what I'm saying. Like if you were going through their phones. It's not by accident. It's true. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03But you know what's crazy to me is I've had friends in the past who have found stuff on their significant other's phones. And the men always turn it around. Wow, are you going through my phone? But it's like, dude, like, why are you turning it around? You were looking at other women or whatever they were doing, cheating, texting other women. So she, you know, so she can't be blamed for looking through your phone because you were being sus.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. That's true.
SPEAKER_03I hate it how the men always turn it around to make you look like the crazy one, right? How dare you go through to find my phone? Well, how dare you cheat, kind of thing. Can a relationship recover after a partner snoops, even if they find nothing? What do you guys think?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_03I think so too. Same. Yes. It is kind of cringe if like you're going through your partner's phone and you find nothing. I know.
SPEAKER_01He's innocent. And I feel like it probably does happen to women more than men. But I feel like women are more naturally curious than men, too. And so I feel like it's it's there it might be harder the other way around. Like it might be harder for a woman to forgive a man for going through the phone because women tend to feel like, why would he go through my phone? I'm not the one doing anything wrong. You know what I mean? It's like I'm not hiding anything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And I feel like once a partner cheats, I feel like it's so hard to build that trust again. I feel if you do cheat, you do have to give your partner full access to your phone all the time, right? Otherwise, it's not gonna work. Yeah. Yeah.
Celebrity Casting What Ifs
SPEAKER_03So now it's time for the celebrity cut where we marinate in the juices of the celebrities. So I was you did you guys ever watch the show Two and a Half Men?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Did you like it? How was Ashton Kutcher as the replacement for Charlie Sheen? Oh, I like the Charlie Sheen. Me too. I love Charlie Sheen. Did you know who was so close to replacing Charlie Sheen before Ashton Kutcher? I would have never thought. Hugh Grant. So Hugh Grant was offered $750,000 an episode, but he initially didn't want to do it because he was scared of the live audience. He's like, I don't want to perform during a live audience. So Chuck Law was like, we'll nix the audience. We we'll just put the sound of the laughing. We'll do it privately. But then when it came down to signing the contract, Hugh Grant didn't do it. Could you have seen him in that role? Yeah, I couldn't have either. Did you watch the show? No, never.
SPEAKER_01I love Charlie Sheen. I feel like without him. I know. I feel like the jokes are too dirty for Hugh Grant. Yeah. I feel. I couldn't have seen him. Yeah. No, me neither.
SPEAKER_03Now it's time to get to know you as Zoeya, sponsored by Zoeya, your neighborhood yogurt.
Rapid Fire Red Flags And First Dates
SPEAKER_03Rapid fire questions. Is it a red flag? Yes or no? If they follow their ex on Instagram.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. You wouldn't mind if you're dating someone and they're I guess following their ex. Everyone follows everyone. Do you do you unfollow someone when you break up with them?
SPEAKER_01It depends on the nature of the relationship. Like my last ex, yeah, I took him off of every all of my socials. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's true. What about friendship? What about friendship?
SPEAKER_01I don't think that's what I'm saying. I think it depends on the nature of the relationship. If it was like a friends or a friends with benefits or a situation, I think like that's frivolous. And it doesn't, it's it, it like it is what it is. Like who who really cares if you still follow someone that you were friends with or went on a few dates with or hooked up with once or twice? I don't think that that's as big of a deal as following someone that you had like a super deep emotional connection with.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Would you be okay with someone you're dating that are good friends with their exact and still hang out with them?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You'd be fine.
SPEAKER_00That would be fine.
SPEAKER_03What if someone's a bad tipper? Is that a deal breaker for you?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Exactly. And if someone is rude to the wait staff, that's a deal breaker. Yes. Me too. What if someone has no social media? Do you think that's a red flag? They're not on Facebook, Instagram, no. Um, where should you not take someone on a first date? Uh McDonald's. McDonald's. We get that answer a lot. The McDonald's and movies. Is watching porn considered cheating?
SPEAKER_00I do not know.
SPEAKER_03No. Before you're intimate, is it appropriate to ask your date how many people they've been with?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03Is it acceptable to have sex on a first date?
SPEAKER_00If it feels right.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03And last but not least, what's your favorite sexual position and why?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03Cheating the fifth. Treat the fifth. Okay. We do that to get reactions. Do you have any other
Where To Watch Electric Life

SPEAKER_00Do you so what is it about? It's about my life. It's like a documentary film.
